ITINERARY

Day 1:

Meeting in Biescas at 9:00 am. Briefing before starting the activity.

Deliver of bagagge and personal belongings to the support vehicle. Sleeping bag is mandatory.

The tour begins with a long 4WD shuttle to the starting point of the stage, high in the mountains. During the morning we’ll ride some amazing and mostly downhill trails with the help of our vehicles until lunch time (picnic).

In the afternoon we must climb up by ourselves to the base camp that our team will set in the mountain hut. This climb can last some hours as we’ll cross some mountain passes higher than 2000 m. The activity ends when we arrive to the refuge, now it’s time to relax and enjoy the magnificient views.

Day 2:

After waking up we’ll have breakfast by the lake and then ride down by singletracks to the bottom of the valley. Again with the support of our 4WD vehicles we’ll enjoy the best trails of the area till the midday picnic.

The plan for the afternoon is very similar to the previous day: climbing by fire roads and singletracks with some hike-a-bike in between, until reaching the second refuge where to spend another pleasant night by the fire. Our support vehicle will be waiting no far from there with the luggage.

Day 3:

Following another striking dawn, we’ll charge batteries with a good breakfast and start to ride again some amazing trails through wild valleys. Our car will be waiting at the bottom to take us to another high mountain pass. Another series of beautiful alpine singletracks will follow, this time with some tough climbs and the last huge downhill trail to Biescas, with more than 1000 m of elevation loss.

This day we’ll finish a bit earlier (16-17 h) to allow the participants return home, surely with a grin in their faces.

F.A.Q

1. What’s the size of the group?

MTB PYRENEES works only with small groups. Our main goal is to provide the best quality. Departure will be confirmed with a group size of minimum 4 and maximum 6 people.

2. What’s the age of the people joining MTB PYRENEES tours?

Tours are usually done by 30-60 years-old people. Depending on the tour, anyone having a good shape and bike handling skills can join. People under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

3. What kind of tour is HUT TO HUT?

HUT TO HUT (3 DAYS) is an Enduro guided tour that includes several daily lifts with our support vehicles to maximize the km of singletrack per day. Although there are several good descents each day, the climbs are physically demanding and require a good physical condition (average of +1000 m per day).

To face these trails it’s also recommended to have good handling skills so you can take the most of the tour. Every day we’ll face some sections of hike-a-bike, not longer than 30 min.

4. What’s the distance to cover each day?

Average distance is about 30 kilometers and average elevation is +1000m / -2000m.

5. Do we have to carry our luggage during the tour?

No. You’ll just carry a day pack whilst riding. It must include some spare parts as well as water & food. Our support vehicle will bring your luggage to the huts where we’ll stay overnight.

6. What if I come across a section I can’t ride?

Don’t worry, just walk. You’ll probably not be the only one. The main goal is to enjoy so, relax!

7. Who will be guiding us?

Our local guides are experienced professionals and have a great knowledge of the area. Your safety is the most important for them. They will always be happy to answer your questions.

8. What sort of accommodation is included?

We’ll stay at non-guarded huts, with sleeping bags and mats. It’s also possible to sleep in our tents if you feel like that. There’s no tap water as we’ll be in nature, but our team will provide a cold water tank and a portable shower.

9. Are meals included in the price?

Yes. During the stages we’ll provide a picnic meal at midday and water and soft drinks will be available at our 4WD shuttle car. Breakfast and dinner at both huts are also included in the tour price.

IF YOU HAVE ANY SPECIAL NEED OR INTOLERANCE, let us know and we’ll adapt to your needs.

10. What type of bike is recommended for the trip?

A full suspension mountain bike (140 – 170 mm) is needed. You’ll face long climbs and demanding descents where trails are usually dry and loose. Full suspension bikes will make you feel comfortable.

We encourage you to travel with your own bike. It is easy, cheaper and comfort is guaranteed. Don’t worry! We’ll help you to set up your bike before the start.

Downhill bikes are not allowed! The tour takes place on public roads shared with hikers and other users. You must respect everybody and avoid aggressive driving. Remember, the main goal is to enjoy the trails and landscape. Please, respect environment.
